We want to thank our collaborative partners for an amazing teamwork. This has been such an exciting project to take part in. We are very honoured to get this recognition and we want to thank everyone who voted for us as the first winner of the architectural lighting design category in this prestigious award
Statement by the jury:
The project creates a magical experience for visitors. It’s hard to think about the impact of underground light, not to mention the complications of making this project work… but the idea of factoring in the seascape, feels like a real collaboration with nature, they added.
The project Under
Under is a restaurant located five and a half meters below the surface of the sea. The lighting for this unusual space is designed to “float” into the room where and when it is needed. By use of the concept, Liqiud Light®, the interior lighting is designed to harmonize with the surrounding nature and seasonal changes. This ensures a warm and intimate experience inside the restaurant, without disturbing the view of the wonders beneath the sea, while the exterior subsea lighting makes various species of marine wildlife visible from inside the restaurant.
