The lighting design is based on preserving both daylight and darkness, making the experience of the sauna at one with nature. A calm and subdued sense of wonder. Lighting is carefully integrated into the pier leading out to the sauna. No visible luminaires, only a warm glow that contrasts against the blue water and evening sky remain, which leads you out to the sauna that can be seen in the distance. The sauna itself is subtly illuminated with the intent of enhancing the experience of light coming from the warm crackling fireplace. Carefully selected surfaces are illuminated to limit reflections in the glass, but create a sense of volume to the structure both for users within the sauna and for those observing Soria Moria from afar.
