SEB built their new office to gather 4500 employees in one place. The three connected buildings span over 72.000 square meters and consist of over 600 meeting rooms, two restaurants, three atriums, an auditorium, a gym, roof terrace and more. The size of the building requires solutions that can be used over a long time and for varying activities.
Discreet glare free lighting – where you need it and when you need it – serves as the base for functional light. The lighting is placed with great care to give maximal impact and avoid excessive and unnecessary light. This, together with systems to ensure that the light is off when no one is present, ensures both minimal electrical consumption and an attractive light scheme.
A large mix of decorative lighting, well synced with the interior design scheme, creates dynamic and inviting spaces. A lot of fixtures were reused from former offices, according to SEB’s policy of timeless and high quality. The functional lighting and the decorative lighting are planned and designed in connection to each other to ensure coherence.
The building also consists of a significant amount of art installations by renown artist such as Olafur Eliasson, Cajsa von Zeipel, and Carsten Höller. The art is carefully lit, and a separate system makes it possible for the lighting to be adapted whenever the art changes.
“Big, complex, and effective—without sacrificing dynamic variation and high standards of execution. A workplace you can be proud of.”
