One Valpy is a commercial office building in Reading. The project was completed late 2014 and is a refurbishment of an existing 1980’s building. The developers, Landid & Brockton Capital chose to deliberately celebrate the internal structure, so the office plates are like contemporary loft spaces with exposed soffits and indirect/direct suspended lighting.
To reinforce the stripped-back approach, Light Bureau chose to emphasise texture and surfaces including the reclaimed oak panelling to reception. Light Bureau’s role was focused on communal spaces and strategy for transit spaces and the marketing suite.
